MATCH DATES: April 28, May 19, June 23, July 28, August 25, September 22 and October 27
LOCATION: Columbia Rifle Range.
ELIGIBILITY: Competition is open to the public. NRA membership is not required.
TIMES: Sight-in starts 8 AM, Match starts at 9 AM. Match usually done by 3 PM.
MATCH FEES: $8.00 per 40 round match. Junior shooters (born 1991 or later) are $2.00
If you have not shot Small bore Silhouette at Green Valley before, match fees are waived for your first match!
COURSE OF FIRE: Event consists of two 40 round matches with a break in between for lunch (lunch not provided).
A 40 round match consists of 1 shot per animal. The silhouettes are in two banks of 5 animals each. Chickens are at 40 meters, pigs at 60 meters, turkeys at 77 meters, and rams at 100 meters.
Each 5 shot bank is shot following a 15 second ready command followed by 2.5 minutes to shoot the 5 shots. The silhouettes must be shot in order with 1 shot per silhouette.
Only 22 rimfire rifles are permitted- but NO hypervelocity ammunition is allowed due to target damage.
All shots are fired standing, with no sling, palmrest, heavy clothing or external support allowed. Scopes are expected given the size of the animals and the distance. Iron sites are allowed- but have no separate class or category to compete in.
AWARDS: Cash awards will be given to the first place winners in each class. 50% of the entry fee will be returned as cash awards or drawings.
RULES: NRA rules apply and NRA classification will be used. NRA scorebooks are required and will be available. (A once per year purchase of $12.00) “Artificial support” rules and regulations will be enforced. Eye and Ear protection are required.
